A music player design for fun & education
The concept of a music player has been done many times. This exploration focused on layout, data through music and color plug-ins, and layer naming conventions. Overall the goal of this file was to share it with the Figma community and show others how plug ins can be used for their work and create an efficient process.
The power of data plug-ins
I used two Figma plug-ins to make the process way faster and teach other designers how to do the same. One plug-in helped me used specifically named layers to insert music data, and the other found the most used color in the album artwork. I added a dark opacity layer to that color to create a music player UI that adapted to the art, making the final design look clean and visually consistent.
